Learning and Skills (Wales) Measure

On 13th May, Wales’ Learning and Skills Measure received Royal Assent.

The Measure goes a long way in securing the future of 14-19 Learning Pathways which aims to improve educational choices, vocational and academic, for young people in Wales.

All stages of education are important in the preparation of a young person for success in life, but the years between 14 and 19 are particularly crucial. During these years individual teenagers make and pursue learning choices that will have long-term implications for their careers, quality of life and ultimate happiness. Moreover, during this period they will follow options that determine, to a large extent, how much they will contribute to the competitiveness and success of the Welsh economy through their skills and knowledge.

Given the pivotal nature of this phase of people’s education, it’s critical that young people in Wales have an equal opportunity to make good choices and receive high-quality support to get the most from the learning they choose.

Freedom of choice

The Learning and Skills Wales Measure gives the Assembly Government powers to issue regulations and guidance to ensure all areas of Wales provide sufficient course options to cater for the needs and preferences of young people.

The Measure also places a duty on local education authorities, governing bodies, headteachers and principals to provide a full menu of learning choices available for learners including both vocational and general courses. Young people will have equal opportunity to have a minimum number of options irrespective of where in Wales they happen to live.

This will help ensure that young people in Wales have the freedom to pursue the learning choices which best suits their talents, interests and ambitions.

14-19 Local Curriculum

During the academic year 2009/2010 14-19 Networks have continued to work towards the formation of local curricular at Key Stage 4. A significant number of schools already offer the equivalent of the minimum entitlement to students, which will become a statutory obligation under the Measure in 2010.

Learners in each Network now have the opportunity to access a wider choice of qualifications and in particular a wider choice of applied (vocational) learning. Many of these new qualifications are being offered in partnership between schools and colleges/training providers. By 2012 all learners at Key Stage 4 will be able to access, at a minimum, 30 courses at least 5 of which will be applied.

Consultation is now taking place with each 14-19 Network on the minimum entitlement at Key Stage 5. The outcome of the consultation will inform this part of the Measure and the minimum entitlement will be implemented from September 2011 for Key Stage 5.

14-19 Welsh Medium / Bilingual Regional Forums

With the progress of the 14-19 Learning Pathways agenda in Wales, there have been key developments in the field of Welsh medium / bilingual education. Over the last year, three 14-19 Welsh Medium / Bilingual Regional Forums have been established. These Forums aim to promote the development of 14-19 Welsh medium / bilingual education by providing a framework for cross-border co-operation.

Delivering the agenda

With regards to range and accessibility of provision, it is accepted that the Welsh medium / bilingual sector is faced with challenges in delivering the 14-19 agenda. In order to address these challenges, it is essential that cross-border partnerships between institutions are established.

Some Welsh medium and bilingual 14-19 providers already operate across county borders and there are very successful partnerships between individual institutions. To date, however, there has been limited co-ordination of this work at county or regional level and it is recognised that a more formal and structured framework for co-operation is needed.

The newly established 14-19 Welsh Medium / Bilingual Regional Forums seek to provide this framework and thus promote cross-border co-operation between institutions offering Welsh medium or bilingual education. This kind of co-operation will allow the institutions to share information, identify good practice and co-ordinate planning.

Co-ordinated effort

Three Forums have been established. The first Forum was established in north Wales. From the outset, the Forum was given strong support from the 14-19 networks. This enabled the Forum’s steering committee to employ the services of Cynnal to co-ordinate the work of the Forum and to provide practical support for institutions as they develop partnerships.

This support included providing curricular advice, identifying priority areas for development and providing Welsh medium inset. The steering group of the central and west Wales Forum are pursuing a parallel route to their colleagues in the north and are looking to use resources provided by DCELLS to establish their own co-ordination package. This Forum is looking at possibilities of co-operation with external organisations in order to further their plans.

Teaching in Welsh

Head teachers of Welsh medium schools in south Wales have also expressed their wish to establish similar arrangements in their region. Plans are already in place to formalise cross-border support for their work in promoting the Welsh medium 14-19 agenda. Future developments for all three Forums include a project to identify teachers and lecturers who have the potential to teach through the medium of Welsh and on this and other projects, the steering groups hope to work closely with external stakeholders such as work place providers. Each Forum is being supported in their work by the Area Teams.

‘An important development’

Many head teachers see the development of the 14-19 Welsh Medium / Bilingual Regional Forums as a significant step forward. The Head teacher of Ysgol Maes Garmon in Mold commented that:

“This has been a very important development for the schools and colleges that provide education through the medium of the Welsh language. It provides for the first time a structure for us to plan Welsh medium developments in a co-ordinated way across the whole region.”

Led by the 14-19 team, this significant development in 14-19 Welsh Medium education is also supported by other teams within DCELLS, namely the Welsh Language Development Unit and in particular the Transformation Team who have recognised that this level of cross border co-operation is an important development and have provided financial support for the initiative.

The next academic year will see further development in the work of the 14-19 Welsh Medium / Bilingual Regional Forums.

Careers Wales Online

Working in partnership with Careers Wales, Networks and schools have been provided with access to their local curriculum report. This provides an analysis of how the submitted local curriculum offer meets the new Learning and Skills (Wales) Measure 2009.

Careers Wales have made improvements to its new site to support the growing number of schools using careerswales.com to support the new measure. The new site will be further rolled out from September 09. The revised tools and resources in the new site integrate the learning and developmental processes of e-Progress File and importantly support the requirements of Learning and Skills Measure (Wales) 2009, by providing KS4 learners with their own individual, interactive online version of Wales’ Learning Pathways Plan.

Schools will be contacted by their local Careers Wales company to arrange training for the next academic year.

Principal Learning & Project Qualifications – Spreading the Word

Conferences were held in Llandudno and Cardiff during June to provide information on delivering the new Principal Learning and Project Qualifications within the Welsh Baccalaureate.

A good range of speakers shared knowledge on Essential Skills Wales, the Welsh Baccalaureate core, the role of Skills Sector Councils and an employer spoke from his perspective about the value of applied and experiential learning that can be transferred to the workplace. Colleagues from England also shared best practice and their learning experiences in setting up collaborative networks and teaching the Principal Learning qualification.

What next?

The next step is for your 14-19 Network Co-ordinators in July to submit their Expressions of Interest to DCELLS for offering Principal Learning in 2010 in any of the ten Lines of Learning that will be available, including IT, Creative and Media, Engineering, Hospitality, Society, Health and Development and Manufacturing and Product Design. Centres must work with an employer to deliver the qualifications and ideally in the long term collaborate with other centres.

The 14-19 Network Co-ordinators will submit the application on behalf of the consortia per local authority area. The deadline for applications is Friday 6th November 2009. Learning Coach

Becoming a learning coach – information for those interested in delivering the learning coach function

Information on the national training programme for learning coaches is now included on the Welsh Assembly Government website at www.wales.gov.uk/learningpathways. This replaces the old website, www.learningcoaches.net, which will no longer be updated.

The learning coach pages include information about the five core modules, profiles of some of the people who took part in the pilot, answers to frequently-asked questions and news stories related to learning coaching.

Bilingual Teaching Methodology Training

21st century Wales is proud of its bilingual society, and fully understands the advantages of being able to live and work through the medium of two languages. Welsh Assembly Government is keen to strengthen and extend bilingualism as a skill among young people.

Today more teachers and lecturers are considering teaching bilingual lessons. This will allow pupils and students to:

  • choose their medium of learning
  • develop communications skills in both languages

Bilingual teaching is challenging, and the fact that teachers can speak Welsh and English does not automatically mean they are proficient to work in a professional bilingual environment. Maintaining balanced and fair usage of two languages in teaching and learning requires planning and organisation.

Confidence and enthusiasm are also essential to ensure that pupils and students have every opportunity to use and develop their language of choice and bilingual skills. Sgiliaith’s Bilingual Teaching Methodology Training prepares teachers and lecturers to do this.

Objective

The training aims to increase the number of teachers and lecturers who teach bilingually. They will be equipped to work confidently and effectively in Welsh and English, balancing the use of both languages in a manner appropriate to the linguistic needs of the learning group.

Training for whom?

The training is intended for teachers and lecturers who are able to communicate fully in Welsh and English, but who are not experienced or confident to teach adults and learners aged 14-19 in mixed language groups.

Training arrangements

The training is held over a period of three days. The sessions will present the various factors which need to be considered in order to maintain effective bilingual teaching and learning. These will include:

  • definitions of bilingual teaching and learning and examples of good practice in bilingual teaching in a range of linguistic situations;
  • advice on finding bilingual and Welsh-medium learning resources, and how to create personal materials;
  • the importance of identifying the linguistic background or profile of group individuals, and how to use this information in order to plan provision and experiences;
  • how to promote bilingualism to all group members and to normalise the use of Welsh in mixed language groups

The culmination of the training is the practical experience of holding a bilingual microteaching session on the third day. The microteaching lesson will be evaluated, and suggestions provided to encourage future development.

The training complies with bilingual and Welsh-medium teaching application guidance provided to accompany LLUK’s ‘New professional standards for teachers, tutors and trainers in Wales’ (2008).

Please note – the size of groups is restricted to a maximum of eight members because of the nature of the training.

Training can be held in the school or college, or in another convenient location. Access to the internet is necessary.

Mesur Dysgu a Sgiliau (Cymru)

Ar 13 Mai, derbyniodd Mesur Dysgu a Sgiliau Cymru Gydsyniad Brenhinol.

Mae’r Mesur yn mynd yn bell iawn tuag at sicrhau dyfodol Llwybrau Dysgu 14-19 sy’n anelu at wella dewisiadau addysgol, yn rhai galwedigaethol ac academaidd, i bobl ifainc yng Nghymru.

Mae pob cam o addysg yn bwysig wrth baratoi person ifanc i lwyddo mewn bywyd, ond mae’r blynyddoedd rhwng 14 a 19 yn arbennig o allweddol. Yn ystod y blynyddoedd hyn bydd pobl ifainc unigol yn gwneud ac yn dilyn dewisiadau dysgu a fydd â goblygiadau tymor hir i’w gyrfaoedd, ansawdd eu bywyd a’u hapusrwydd yn y pen draw. At hynny, yn ystod y cyfnod hwn byddant yn dilyn opsiynau a fydd yn penderfynu,

i raddau helaeth, sut byddant yn cyfrannu at gystadleugarwch a llwyddiant economi Cymru drwy eu sgiliau a’u gwybodaeth.

O gofio natur allweddol y cyfnod hwn yn addysg pobl, mae’n hanfodol fod gan bobl ifainc yng Nghymru gyfle cyfartal i wneud dewisiadau da ac i gael cymorth o ansawdd uchel fel y gallant fanteisio i’r eithaf ar y dysgu a ddewisant.

Rhyddid i ddewis

Mae Mesur Dysgu a Sgiliau Cymru’n rhoi pwerau i Lywodraeth y Cynulliad gyhoeddi rheoliadau a chanllawiau i sicrhau bod pob ardal o Gymru’n darparu digon o ddewis o gyrsiau i gyflawni anghenion a dewisiadau pobl ifainc.

Mae’r Mesur hefyd yn ei gwneud hi’n ddyletswydd ar awdurdodau addysg lleol, cyrff llywodraethu, penaethiaid a phrifathrawon i ddarparu dewislen lawn o ddewisiadau dysgu fydd ar gael i ddysgwyr gan gynnwys cyrsiau galwedigaethol a chyffredinol. Bydd gan bobl ifainc gyfle cyfartal i gael lleiafswm nifer o ddewisiadau lle bynnag yng Nghymru y maen nhw’n digwydd byw. Bydd hyn yn helpu i sicrhau bod rhyddid gan bobl ifainc yng Nghymru i ddilyn y dewisiadau dysgu sy’n gweddu orau i’w doniau, eu diddordebau a’u huchelgais.

Cwricwla Lleol 14-19

Yn ystod y flwyddyn academaidd 2009/2010 mae Rhwydweithiau 14-19 wedi parhau i weithio tuag at ffurfio cwricwla lleol yng Nghyfnod Allweddol 4. Mae nifer arwyddocaol o ysgolion eisoes yn cynnig yr hyn sy’n cyfateb i’r lleiafswm hawl i fyfyrwyr, a fydd yn dod yn ofyniad statudol o dan y Mesur yn 2010.

Nawr bydd gan ddysgwyr ym mhob Rhwydwaith gyfle i gael mynediad i ddewis ehangach o gymwysterau a dewis ehangach o ddysgu cymhwysol (galwedigaethol) yn enwedig. Mae llawer o’r cymwysterau newydd hyn yn cael eu cynnig mewn partneriaeth rhwng ysgolion a rhwng ysgolion a cholegau/darparwyr hyfforddiant. Erbyn 2012 bydd pob dysgwr yng Nghyfnod Allweddol 4 yn gallu cael mynediad i leiafswm o 30 o gyrsiau y bydd o leiaf 5 ohonynt yn rhai cymhwysol.

Mae ymgynghori bellach yn digwydd â phob Rhwydwaith 14-19 ar y lleiafswm hawl yng Nghyfnod Allweddol 5. Bydd canlyniad yr ymgynghori hwn yn hysbysu’r rhan hwn o’r Mesur a chaiff y lleiafswm hawl ei roi ar waith o fis Medi 2011 i Gyfnod Allweddol 5.

Fforymau Rhanbarthol Cyfrwng Cymraeg / Dwyieithog 14-19

Wrth i’r agenda Llwybrau Dysgu 14-19 symud yn ei blaen yng Nghymru, bu datblygiadau allweddol ym maes addysg cyfrwng Cymraeg / ddwyieithog. Dros y flwyddyn ddiwethaf, mae tri Fforwm Rhanbarthol Cyfrwng Cymraeg / Dwyieithog 14-19 wedi’u sefydlu. Nod y Fforymau hyn yw hyrwyddo datblygu addysg cyfrwng Cymraeg / ddwyieithog drwy ddarparu fframwaith ar gyfer cydweithredu trawsffiniol.

Cyflenwi'r agenda

O ran ystod a hygyrchedd y ddarpariaeth, derbynnir bod y sector cyfrwng Cymraeg / dwyieithog yn wynebu heriau wrth gyflenwi agenda 14-19. Er mwyn mynd i’r afael â’r heriau hyn, mae’n hanfodol sefydlu partneriaethau trawsffiniol rhwng sefydliadau.

Mae rhai darparwyr cyfrwng Cymraeg a dwyieithog eisoes yn gweithredu ar draws ffiniau siroedd ac mae partneriaethau llwyddiannus iawn rhwng sefydliadau unigol. Hyd yma, fodd bynnag, ychydig o gydlynu’r gwaith hwn fu ar lefel siroedd neu ranbarthau a chydnabyddir bod angen fframwaith ar gyfer cydweithredu sy’n fwy ffurfiol a strwythuredig.

Mae’r Fforymau Rhanbarthol Cyfrwng Cymraeg / Dwyieithog sydd newydd eu sefydlu’n ceisio darparu’r fframwaith hwn ac felly hyrwyddo cydweithredu trawsffiniol rhwng sefydliadau sy’n cynnig addysg cyfrwng Cymraeg neu ddwyieithog. Bydd y math yma o gydweithredu’n galluogi’r sefydliadau i rannu gwybodaeth, adnabod arfer da a chydlynu’r cynllunio.

Ymdrech gydlynol

Sefydlwyd tri Fforwm. Sefydlwyd y Fforwm cyntaf yng ngogledd Cymru. O’r dechrau’n deg, rhoddwyd cefnogaeth gref i’r Fforwm gan y rhwydweithiau 14-19. Galluogodd hyn bwyllgor llywio’r Fforwm i gyflogi gwasanaethau Cynnal i gydlynu gwaith y Fforwm ac i roi cymorth ymarferol i sefydliadau wrth iddyn nhw ddatblygu partneriaethau.

Roedd y cymorth hwn yn cynnwys darparu cyngor cwricwlaidd, nodi’r meysydd blaenoriaeth i’w datblygu a darparu hyfforddiant mewn swydd cyfrwng Cymraeg. Mae grŵp llywio Fforwm canolbarth a gorllewin Cymru’n dilyn llwybr tebyg i’w cydweithwyr yn y gogledd ac yn bwriadu defnyddio adnoddau a ddarparwyd gan APADGOS i sefydlu eu pecyn cydlynu eu hunain. Mae’r Fforwm hwn yn edrych ar y posibiliadau o gydlynu â chyrff allanol er mwyn mynd â’u cynlluniau rhagddynt.

Addysgu yn Gymraeg

Mae penaethiaid ysgolion cyfrwng Cymraeg yn ne Cymru hefyd wedi mynegi eu dymuniad i sefydlu trefniadau tebyg yn eu rhanbarth nhw.

Mae cynlluniau eisoes yn eu lle i ffurfioli cymorth trawsffiniol i’w gwaith yn hyrwyddo’r agenda cyfrwng Cymraeg 14-19. Mae datblygiadau’r dyfodol i bob un o’r tri Fforwm yn cynnwys prosiect i nodi’r athrawon a’r darlithwyr sydd â’r potensial i addysgu drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg ac ar y prosiect hwn a rhai eraill, gobaith y grwpiau llywio yw gweithio’n agos gyda budd-ddeiliaid allanol megis darparwyr gweithleoedd. Mae pob Fforwm yn cael ei gefnogi wrth ei waith gan y Timau Rhanbarth.

‘Datblygiad pwysig’

Mae llawer o benaethiaid yn gweld datblygiad y Fforymau Rhanbarthol Cyfrwng Cymraeg / Dwyieithog fel cam arwyddocaol ymlaen. Meddai Pennaeth Ysgol Maes Garmon yn yr Wyddgrug:

“Mae hwn wedi bod yn ddatblygiad pwysig iawn i’r ysgol a’r colegau sy’n darparu addysg drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg. Am y tro cyntaf mae’n rhoi strwythur i ni gynllunio datblygiadau cyfrwng Cymraeg yn gydlynol ar draws y rhanbarth i gyd.”

O dan arweiniad y tîm 14-19, mae’r datblygiad arwyddocaol hwn mewn addysg Cyfrwng Cymraeg 14-19 hefyd yn cael ei gefnogi gan dimau eraill yn APADGOS, sef Uned Datblygu’r Gymraeg ac yn arbennig y Tîm Gweddnewid sydd wedi cydnabod bod y lefel hon o gydweithredu trawsffiniol yn ddatblygiad pwysig ac sydd wedi rhoi cefnogaeth ariannol i’r fenter.

Yn ystod y flwyddyn academaidd nesaf gwelir datblygiad pellach yng ngwaith y Fforymau Rhanbarthol Cyfrwng Cymraeg / Dwyieithog 14-19.

Gan weithio mewn partneriaeth â Gyrfa Cymru, mae Rhwydweithiau ac ysgolion wedi cael mynediad i’w hadroddiad cwricwlwm lleol. Mae hyn yn rhoi dadansoddiad o sut mae’r cynnig cwricwlwm lleol a gyflwynwyd yn ateb Mesur Dysgu a Sgiliau (Cymru) 2009.

Mae Gyrfa Cymru wedi gwneud gwelliannau i’w safle newydd i gefnogi’r nifer cynyddol o ysgolion sy’n defnyddio gyrfacymru.com i gefnogi’r mesur newydd. Bydd y wefan newydd yn cael ei datblygu ymhellach o fis Medi 09. Mae’r offer a’r adnoddau diwygiedig yn y wefan newydd yn integreiddio prosesau dysgu a datblygiadol y Ffeil e-Gynnydd a’r hyn sy’n bwysig yw ei bod yn cefnogi gofynion Mesur Dysgu a Sgiliau (Cymru) 2009, drwy roi i ddysgwyr CA4 eu fersiwn ar-lein unigol a rhyngweithiol o Gynllun Llwybrau Dysgu Cymru.

Bydd eu cwmni Gyrfa Cymru lleol yn cysylltu ag ysgolion i drefnu hyfforddiant ar gyfer y flwyddyn academaidd nesaf.

Rhannodd amrywiaeth dda o siaradwyr wybodaeth am Sgiliau Hanfodol Cymru, craidd Bagloriaeth Cymru, rôl y Cynghorau Sgiliau Sector a siaradodd cyflogwr o’i safbwynt ef am werth dysgu cymhwysol a dysgu drwy brofiadau y gellir ei drosglwyddo i’r gweithle. Hefyd rhannodd cydweithwyr o Loegr arfer da a’u profiadau dysgu wrth sefydlu rhwydweithiau cydweithredu ac addysgu’r cymhwyster Prif Ddysgu.

Beth nesaf?

Y cam nesaf yw i’ch Cydlynwyr Rhwydwaith 14-19 gyflwyno eu Datganiadau o Ddiddordeb ym mis Gorffennaf i APADGOS i gynnig Prif Ddysgu yn 2010 mewn unrhyw un o’r deg Llinell Dysgu a fydd ar gael gan gynnwys TG, Creadigol a’r Cyfryngau, Peirianneg, Croesawiaeth, Cymdeithas, Iechyd a Datblygiad a Gweithgynhyrchu a Dylunio Cynnyrch. Meddai Jane Hutt, y Gweinidog dros Addysg:

“Mae’n hanfodol yn yr hinsawdd sydd ohoni heddiw fod ein pobl ifainc yn cael ystod o gyfleoedd i ennill y cymwysterau sydd eu hangen arnynt i symud eu gyrfaoedd yn eu blaenau’n llwyddiannus.

“Mae’n wych ein bod ni yma yng Nghymru’n gallu cynnig cymhwyster fel Bagloriaeth Cymru sy’n rhoi’r cyfle i fyfyrwyr astudio amrywiaeth o wahanol ddewisiadau cyrsiau.

“Wrth gynnwys y cymwysterau Prif Ddysgu a Phrosiect ar yr un pryd ag ehangu amrediad a nifer canolfannau Cymhwyster Bagloriaeth Cymru rydym yn cyflawni ein hymrwymiad yn Cymru’n Un i gynnig bagloriaeth ehangach.”

Dod yn anogwr dysgu – gwybodaeth i’r rhai sydd â diddordeb mewn bod yn anogwr dysgu

Mae gwybodaeth am y rhaglen hyfforddi genedlaethol ar gyfer anogwyr dysgu bellach wedi’i chynnwys ar wefan Llywodraeth Cynulliad Cymru yn www.cymru.gov.uk/llwybraudysgu. Hyfforddiant Methodoleg Addysgu Dwyieithog

Mae Cymru’r 21ain ganrif yn falch o’i chymdeithas ddwyieithog, ac yn deall yn llawn fanteision gallu byw a gweithio drwy gyfrwng y ddwy iaith. Mae Llywodraeth Cynulliad Cymru’n awyddus i gryfhau ac ehangu dwyieithrwydd fel sgìl ymysg pobl ifainc.

Heddiw mae rhagor o athrawon a darlithwyr yn ystyried addysgu gwersi dwyieithog. Bydd hyn yn galluogi’r disgyblion a’r myfyrwyr i:

  • ddewis eu cyfrwng dysgu
  • datblygu sgiliau cyfathrebu yn y ddwy iaith

Mae addysgu dwyieithog yn heriol, ac nid yw’r ffaith y gall athrawon siarad Cymraeg a Saesneg yn golygu’n syth eu bod yn gymwys i weithio mewn amgylchedd dwyieithog proffesiynol. Mae cynnal defnydd cytbwys a theg o’r ddwy iaith wrth addysgu a dysgu’n gofyn am gynllunio a threfniadaeth.

Mae hyder a brwdfrydedd hefyd yn hanfodol er mwyn sicrhau bod disgyblion a myfyrwyr yn cael pob cyfle i ddewis a datblygu eu dewis iaith a’u sgiliau dwyieithog. Mae Hyfforddiant Methodoleg Addysgu Dwyieithog Sgiliaith yn paratoi athrawon a darlithwyr i wneud hyn.

Nod yr hyfforddiant yw cynyddu nifer yr athrawon a’r darlithwyr sy’n addysgu’n ddwyieithog. Byddant wedi'u harfogi i weithio’n hyderus ac effeithlon yn Gymraeg a Saesneg, gan gydbwyso’r defnydd o’r ddwy iaith yn briodol i anghenion ieithyddol y grŵp dysgu.

Hyfforddiant i bwy?

Mae’r hyfforddiant wedi’i fwriadu i athrawon a darlithwyr sy’n gallu cyfathrebu’n llawn yn Gymraeg ac yn Saesneg, ond nad ydynt yn brofiadol neu’n hyderus i addysgu oedolion a dysgwyr 14-19 oed mewn grwpiau iaith cymysg.

Trefniadau hyfforddi

Cynhelir yr hyfforddiant dros gyfnod o dridiau. Bydd y sesiynau’n cyflwyno’r ffactorau amrywiol y mae angen eu hystyried er mwyn cynnal addysgu a dysgu effeithlon. Bydd y rhain yn cynnwys:

  • diffiniadau o addysgu a dysgu dwyieithog ac enghreifftiau o arfer da mewn addysgu dwyieithog mewn amrywiaeth o sefyllfaoedd ieithyddol;
  • cyngor am ddod o hyd i adnoddau dysgu dwyieithog a chyfrwng Cymraeg, a sut i greu deunyddiau personol;
  • pwysigrwydd nodi cefndir neu broffil ieithyddol unigolion y grŵp, a sut i ddefnyddio’r wybodaeth hon i gynllunio’r ddarpariaeth a’r profiadau;
  • sut i hyrwyddo dwyieithrwydd i holl aelodau’r grŵp ac i normaleiddio’r defnydd o’r Gymraeg mewn grwpiau iaith cymysg

Penllanw’r hyfforddiant yw’r profiad ymarferol o gynnal sesiwn addysgu micro ddwyieithog ar y trydydd dydd. Bydd y wers addysgu micro’n cael ei gwerthuso, a rhoddir awgrymiadau i hybu datblygiad pellach.

Mae’r hyfforddiant yn cydymffurfio ag arweiniad cymhwyso addysgu cyfrwng Cymraeg a dwyieithog a ddarparwyd i gyd-fynd â ‘Safonau proffesiynol newydd i athrawon, tiwtoriaid a hyfforddwyr yng Nghymru’ LLUK (2008).

Noder – mae maint y grwpiau wedi’i gyfyngu i uchafswm o wyth aelod oherwydd natur yr hyfforddiant.

Gellir cynnal yr hyfforddiant yn yr ysgol neu’r coleg, neu mewn lleoliad cyfleus arall. Mae mynediad i’r rhyngrwyd yn angenrheidiol.
